The following is a summary of the research facilitated by DMT Quest in 2024:
Imaging of endogenous DMT in the Human Brain – UC San Diego
In-vitro research to verify whether endogenous DMT acts as a neurotransmitter. – UC San Diego
A randomized control study of a single guided hyperventilation breathwork session to measure altered states of consciousness, mystical experiences, and mental well-being in order to evaluate breathwork as a therapeutic tool. – Brighton & Sussex Medical School
A pilot study of administering 3 levels of DMT to subjects who have experienced Out-of-Body Experiences (OBE’s) to verify whether DMT can assist in facilitating OBE’s. – Univesite de Lorraine (France)
High density EEG of 6 rounds of Wim Hof Method (WHM) breathing comparing the neural activity of this breathwork to DMT EEG. This study will include WHM instructors as well as naive subjects – Universite de Lorraine (France)
Live-microdialysis animal research to measure changes in the “Endohuasca system” (endogenous DMT, 5-MEO, bufotenin, harmine, isatin, neurocatin, pinoline) from circadian rhythm fluctuations, LSD administration, and sound/light frequency entrainment of differing oscillatory speeds – University of Michigan
EEG and transcendental phenomenology comparison between medium and high doses of DMT to breathwork. – University of Cambridge
The study of the anti-inflammatory effects of DMT, 5-MEO, bufotenin, & psilocin under hypoxic conditions. – University of Debrecen
Intrathecal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of human subjects with mild hydrocephalus to measure for changes in “Endohuasca system” prior to and following WHM breathing. – University of Pisa (Italy)
The continued development of the exploration of consciousness pursuing an interdisciplinary approach at the intersection of theoretical physics, neuroscience, and philosophy of the mind. – (DIWISS)
The development of femtomolar range bio-sensors to measure endogenous DMT in human saliva – (IHMC/Georgia Tech)

DMT Quest is a non-profit 501(c)3 dedicated to raising awareness and funds for endogenous DMT Research. This specific field of psychedelic research has been underfunded for many decades now. It’s time to take our understanding of human physiology, abilities, and perception to the next level. You can also follow us at Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
